• CO 2 chemical absorption with aqueous NH 3 is experimentally and theoretically investigated. The process dynamics simulated for the first time by a deterministic mathematical model. model capable to successfully predict ion speciation capture efficiency evolution. validated predicting experimental output under different operating conditions. possibility use optimize columns operation/regeneration cycle discussed. It well known that re-use one of main challenges be pursued in order tackle global warming issues. Aqueous ammonia solutions are among most promising sorbents post-combustion could represent valid potentially economical alternative conventional alkanolamines, due their higher capacity, lower energy requirements sorbent regeneration greater resistance oxidative thermal degradation. Despite its apparent simplicity convenience, dynamic evolution ? system needs further investigated through proper models permit design, optimize, control process.
